A heart for nursing – and teaching
As a nurse at Eskenazi Health, Savannah Langbehn, MSN ’23, BSN ’18, RN, precepted nursing students. But when in-person clinical instruction stopped during Covid, something became very clear. Savannah not only loved nursing, she also loved teaching.
"We must continue to do better"
Believing that nurses have the power to help mitigate health disparities, Rose Mays, PhD, RN, professor emerita, and her late husband established an excellence in teaching diversity fund at IU School of Nursing. The fund provides support for faculty in developing diversity-related curricula.
Dayton Livingston, BSN ‘19, RN, CMGT-BC, says his career has come full circle with his decision to pursue a master’s degree in nursing education. “Everything I've enjoyed doing up to this point in my life has involved education and teaching. The master’s degree is getting back to what I’ve enjoyed from the start.”
