IUFW nursing students get hands-on experience within weeks of beginning classes

Nurses are here to change the world and impact lives, and nursing education at IUFW strives for the same level of commitment. Everything about your education—from advanced simulation experience to your capstone experience—is deeply focused on real-world understanding.

To further that real-world experience, you’ll rotate through a variety of clinical partnerships and on-site clinics.

Outreach in action at the Lafayette Street Family Health Clinic

Located near downtown Fort Wayne, the Lafayette Street Family Health Clinic is managed by nurses, helps educate the next generation of nurses, and is focused on a variety of health needs for the community.

Birth control, family planning, STD testing and treatment, and health education and counseling are all available at no or low-cost to those who need it at the Lafayette Family Health Clinic.

As a nursing student, you’ll be able to practice your skills, work alongside some of the most skilled and professional nurses in northwest Indiana, and learn about nursing in an urban environment.
