Three pathways to a BSN, tailored to your needs

Indiana University School of Nursing offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program with three tracks—traditional, accelerated second degree, and RN to BSN.

Each track offers an exciting and cutting-edge pathway to a rich and rewarding professional nursing career, whether you are a traditional undergraduate student, a working RN, or an individual with a bachelor’s degree in a different field who wants to pursue nursing.

Application deadlines

Fall entry

  • Applications available online:
    • Traditional BSN: January 15–April 15
    • Accelerated BSN: March 15–June 15
  • Priority deadline for course completion:
    • Accelerated BSN: May 15
  • Final course completion deadline:
    • Traditional BSN: End of spring semester
    • Accelerated BSN: July 30
  • Notifications sent to students: Mid-June

Spring entry

  • Indianapolis and Fort Wayne only
  • Applications available online:
    • Traditional BSN: July 15–October 15
    • Accelerated BSN: August 15–November 15
  • Priority deadline for course completion:
    • Accelerated BSN: October 15
  • Notifications sent to students: Mid-December

Summer entry

Accelerated Second Degree track only.

  • Applications available online: December 15
  • Deadline to apply: March 15
  • Priority deadline for course completion: February 15 
  • Final course completion deadline: March 15
  • Notifications sent to students: Late April
  • Deadline to accept offer of admission: May 1
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis for completion. Candidates without final grades will be held for further consideration until all seats are filled or orientation, whichever is soonest.

Licensure

Indiana University School of Nursing academic programs are designed to prepare students to sit for applicable licensure in Indiana.
