Indiana University's online RN to BSN Degree Completion option is for registered nurses (RN) wanting to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). The program offers a flexible curriculum that prepares you to meet society's current and future health needs.

As a student in this BSN track, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of nursing, the humanities, and the biological and social sciences. You acquire the knowledge and skills needed to serve as a practitioner in acute and long-term care, community settings, home care, and other nontraditional settings.

The Online RN to BSN prepares you to be a:

  • Physician’s office nurse
  • Neonatal or pediatric nurse
  • Geriatric nurse
  • ICU or emergency room nurse
  • Surgical nurse
  • Obstetric and gynecological nurse
  • Orthopedic nurse
  • Hospice nurse

How it works

The RN to BSN Degree Completion Option was created collaboratively by IU School of Nursing across all nine Indiana University campuses. Its courses use web-based and video technologies that make the entire program distance accessible. You can earn your BSN where you live, in the midst of your busy schedule.

The program is flexible: once you complete general education coursework, you can complete nursing courses in 12 months of full-time study or 18–24 months of part-time study. Nursing courses are delivered in condensed, six- or eight-week learning modules.
