About

Leaders in the field, then and now

Description of the video:

I'm Robin Newhouse, dean of Indiana University School of Nursing. In all the ways that matter most, the Indiana University School of Nursing is excelling. More students are enrolling across our three campus locations. Last fall, we welcomed the largest group of bachelor's degree students in our 109-year history. More graduates are joining the workforce, helping communities promote health across Indiana and beyond. More dollars are being invested by private, federal, and non-governmental sources, expanding research opportunities, scholarships, and financial aid for students. More groundbreaking research is being conducted by faculty members, who are designing tools and interventions to create healthier outcomes for patients, and we continue to explore new ways to teach our students through innovative educational strategies. Our community clinics provide much-needed health care to underserved, urban communities, and we help care for families throughout rural Indiana through key community partnerships. In all the ways that matter most, our students, faculty, donors, alumni, and partners provide the support that gives wings to the ideas and innovations taking place at the Indiana University School of Nursing. This is an exciting place to be, and we are just getting started. I invite you to join us on the journey. [Music]

Three campuses, one commitment to excellence

Our core school, with campuses in Bloomington, Fort Wayne, and Indianapolis share a BSN curriculum and a governance structure. Dean Robin Newhouse works with an executive team to provide oversight for all three of our campus locations.

Our academic programs continue to gain multiple honors and awards, thanks to a world-renowned faculty that is dedicated to innovative teaching practices and research. They foster student success in our classrooms, learning labs, community, and beyond. Several faculty members are distinguished fellows in national nursing organizations including American Academy of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau, International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame, National League for Nursing, and American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
