If you are an incoming or current, undergraduate or graduate IU School of Nursing student, you may apply for one of our scholarships by submitting an application and required essay. Scholarship applications are open from December 1 to March 1. During the open period, you can search the scholarships portal using the keyword “nursing” for available scholarships.

For financial need scholarships, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) annually. Deadline to submit your FAFSA can be found at the same link.

Award amounts range from $500 to $10,000 per year, per scholarship.

How to apply for scholarships

  1. Sign in to the scholarship portal using your IU username and passphrase.
  2. Complete the general scholarship application to be automatically considered for all the scholarship opportunities you’re eligible for.
  3. Find the opportunities you’re looking for by performing a search with keyword nursing or the specific name of the scholarship.
  4. Complete any additional application materials that may be necessary.

Jessie I. Cross Scholarship Fund

Jonelle White Frazier Endowed Nursing Scholarship

The Jonelle White Frazier Endowed Nursing Scholarship was by Jonelle White Frazier, proud member of IUSON Class of 1958 and 40+ year instructor of Certified Nursing Assistants, to assist undergraduate students on the IUPUI campus

  • Minimum GPA of 2.5

Joseph Maurice Cantin and Charles Ernest Goosman Scholarship Fund

Charles E. Goosman, Indiana University Class of 1952, established this scholarship in honor and memory of his partner, Joseph Maurice Cantin. Joe was loved and admired by every person he knew and worked with. He was a person of high standards and ready wit who was deeply committed to his craft as a licensed registered nurse.

Katherine Christ Endowed Scholarship for Nursing Students at IUFW

The Katherine Christ Endowed Scholarship for Nursing Students at IUFW was established in memory of Katherine Christ. Katherine emigrated from Germany when she was 17 years of age. She studied nursing but as was the custom at the time, she had to stop when children came along. Katherine was a marvelous cook and dedicated to her family. She believed in caring for others and thus created a legacy of nurses with daughters, a granddaughter and two nieces all choosing to serve in this profession.

Klausner Family Endowed Nursing Scholarship

The Klausner Family Endowed Nursing Scholarship was established by Daniel and Angela Klausner. The Klausner's daughters are both alumnae of the School of Nursing - Bloomington and feel they received an excellent education. Their daughters have witnessed firsthand the benefits their classmates have received with the assistance of financial aid and want to provide this support to make certain that those who would be good nurses have the opportunity to enter the program.
