Find scholarships and fellowships to fund your education

If you are an incoming or current, undergraduate or graduate IU School of Nursing student, you may apply for one of our scholarships by submitting an application and required essay.

For financial need scholarships we request a completed FAFSA. Award amounts range from $500 to $10,000 per year, per scholarship. Applications for nursing specific scholarships are open from December 1 to March 31, unless otherwise noted in the scholarship portal.

How to apply for scholarships

  1. Sign in to the scholarship portal using your IU username and passphrase.
  2. Complete the general scholarship application to be automatically considered for all the scholarship opportunities you’re eligible for.
  3. Find the opportunities you’re looking for by performing a search with keyword nursing or the specific name of the scholarship.
  4. Complete any additional application materials that may be necessary.

Mary & Gene Tempel RISE Scholarship

The Mary and Gene Tempel RISE Scholarship was established by Mary Tempel and Gene Tempel to honor Mary's work with IU School of Nursing and in the field of nursing. Mary obtained her MSN from IU School of Nursing in 1997 and became a Nurse Practitioner in dermatology. Gene is the founding dean of the IU Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. RISE - Research, International, Service Learning, and Experiential Learning.

Mary J. Fulk Kopsch Scholarship

The Mary J. Fulk Kopsch Scholarship was established to recognize and honor Mrs. Kopsch who received her degree in nursing from Indiana University in 1948 and her sister, Esther Fulk Ross, who received her nursing degree in 1946.

 

Mays Family RISE Scholarship for Men in Nursing

The Mays Family RISE Scholarship for Men in Nursing was established in 2011 by William and Rose Mays to support male IU Indianapolis undergraduate nursing students. Rose obtained her MSN in 1974 from IU School of Nursing and is a Professor Emeritus. Her late husband, William, obtained a BA in Chemistry in 1970, his MBA in 1973, and Honorary Doctor of Science in 2000 from Indiana University. RISE - Research, International, Service Learning, and Experiential Learning.

Molly Ward Greist Nursing Scholarship Endowment Fund

The Molly Ward Greist Nursing Scholarship Endowment Fund was established in 1996 by Daisy Hinkle Garton, a graduate of Indiana University 1932, in honor of Mollie Ward Greist, RN.

Nurse Practitioner Scholarship

The Nurse Practitioner Scholarship was established in 2013 to support MSN students in their final semester of a nurse practitioner track at IU School of Nursing; preference is given to those students who plan to pursue a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at IUSON.

Nursing 2000 Scholarship for Graduate Education in Nursing

The Nursing 2000 Scholarship for Graduate Education in Nursing was established by Nursing 2000, Inc., to recognize the organization's dedication to promote and support clinical and academic careers in nursing and to assist with the education of graduate students preparing to become qualified nursing faculty.

Pamela Ritter Willhite Nursing Scholarship

The Pamela Ritter Willhite Nursing Scholarship was established in memory of Pamela Ritter Willhite, BSN 1968. Pamela graduated in the top 10 of her class and was named "Student Nurse of the Year." In tribute to Pamela, who received financial assistance when she was a student, her family and friends established this scholarship in her name to assist future undergraduate nursing students.
