Indiana University School of Nursing (IUSON) is seeking exceptional candidates for the position of Associate Dean, Bloomington campus. The Associate Dean will provide leadership to the School of Nursing at Bloomington: faculty, staff, and students. The Associate Dean will collaborate with leaders across the Indiana University School of Nursing core school and Indiana University Bloomington. The Associate Dean will be central to the advancement of the IUSON’s excellence of the new Regional Academic Health Center (RAHC). The new RAHC reflects the vision of the partnership between Indiana University and Indiana University Health and includes a new hospital, instructional space for health-related programs, and possible expansion of the nursing program.
The Associate Dean is responsible for the operational, teaching and scholarship activities of the core campus. The position involves school of nursing campus specific responsibilities. The Associate Dean is a member of the: Executive Leadership Council, Clinical Community Advisory Board, RN-BSN Consortium Steering Committee, and participates in faculty governance as elected or appointed. This position reports to the Executive Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
Qualified applicants must hold an Earned Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), nursing major preferred; If PhD is not in nursing a master’s degree in nursing required. Teaching experience in higher education programs in nursing. Experience in an administrative position in nursing education. Eligible for appointment as a tenured associate or full professor. Evidence of positive interpersonal and group process skills. Knowledge of current developments in nursing education and practice. Experience with state and national nursing education accreditation and approval processes preferred. Evidence of contributions to nursing through research/scholarly activities and creative endeavors. Must have a current unencumbered Indiana Nursing License or eligible to obtain at the time of appointment.
