Scholarships

Find scholarships and fellowships to fund your education

If you are an incoming or current, undergraduate or graduate IU School of Nursing student, you may apply for one of our scholarships by submitting an application and required essay. Scholarship applications are open from December 1 to March 1. During the open period, you can search the scholarships portal using the keyword “nursing” for available scholarships.

For financial need scholarships, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) annually. Deadline to submit your FAFSA can be found at the same link.

Award amounts range from $500 to $10,000 per year, per scholarship.

How to apply for scholarships

  1. Sign in to the scholarship portal using your IU username and passphrase.
  2. Complete the general scholarship application to be automatically considered for all the scholarship opportunities you’re eligible for.
  3. Find the opportunities you’re looking for by performing a search with keyword nursing or the specific name of the scholarship.
  4. Complete any additional application materials that may be necessary.

Harriett Becker Scholarship

The Harriett Becker Scholarship was established in 2002 by an estate gift from Harriett R. Becker, a 1948 graduate of IU School of Nursing.

Howard L. Keach Scholarship

The Howard L. Keach Scholarship was established in 1977 by an estate gift from Hilda H. Keach in memory of her husband, Howard L. Keach.

IUFW Nursing Scholarship

The IUFW Nursing Scholarship supports scholarships for students enrolled in the nursing program at the IU School of Nursing Fort Wayne campus.

Jacqueline Beretta Dwyer Fund

Jean L. Coffey Webster Scholarship

The Jean L. Coffey Webster Scholarship was established in 2001 by members of the Class of 1951 to honor Jean L. Coffey, who was the director of the School of Nursing (1949-1953) when the Class of 1951 graduated.

Jessie I. Cross Scholarship Fund

The Jessie I. Cross Scholarship Fund was established in 1983 by Jessie I. Cross, a graduate of IU School of Nursing, Class of 1942.

Joseph Maurice Cantin and Charles Ernest Goosman Scholarship Fund

Charles E. Goosman, Indiana University Class of 1952, established this scholarship in honor and memory of his partner, Joseph Maurice Cantin. Joe was loved and admired by every person he knew and worked with. He was a person of high standards and ready wit who was deeply committed to his craft as a licensed registered nurse.

Judith Kernohan-Burgner Memorial Scholarship
