The cold couldn’t stop us. Neither could the wind and rain, as our students and members of the IUSON Bloomington faculty and staff proudly marched in this year’s IU Homecoming Parade on October 11th. Our enthusiasm was infectious, as we marched to our students singing (to the tune of the Bee Gees Stayin’ Alive):
“Ah, ah, ah, ah, savin’ a life, savin’ a life!”
It was a spontaneous demonstration of school spirt that so delighted the crowd and impressed the judges that IUSON Bloomington was awarded a first place trophy for our participation in this year’s parade!
IUSON Class of 1961 graduate Mary Jane Compton was the grand marshal for Friday night’s parade. The next day, Mary Jane joined IUSON Dean Robin Newhouse as the guests of honor at our 2nd annual Homecoming Tailgate, an event that is fast becoming an IUSON Bloomington signature event. Saturday’s tailgate featured tons of food, faculty, family, and friends – along with raffles (with lots of giveaways), coloring books for the kids, a nearby band playing country music, and other fun events.
Take a few minutes now to look at photos from Homecoming weekend, as we look back on our celebration of what it means to be part of the IUSON, Bloomington family!
