Stately Presidents Hall was the site for last year’s most memorable and heartfelt event: Our May 4th Recognition Ceremony.

There are so many memories from that day: Dr. Marsha Hughes-Gay’s poignant (and funny) graduation address in which she acknowledged each of our graduates for completing “a journey as unique as you are.” Clinical Assistant Professor Pat Watts (a U.S. Army veteran herself) and her tearful salute to Army-bound Senior Colten Staten. Assistant Professor Angela Opsahl’s recognition of our five outstanding Honors Program seniors: Megan Eble, Emily Pedigo, Nick Bell, Allyson Hunsigner, and Breanna Martlage. The symbolic and highly-emotional candle lighting ceremony (a first this year) and the pinning of our students by members of the faculty. And class spokesperson Channing Kay’s spectacular commencement address in which Channing asked her classmates to stand if they felt they’d made a lifelong friend while studying at our school … and every senior stood!

Ninety-one students were recognized that day: 76 from the traditional BSN program and 15 RN to BSN students. To each of them we say: Thank you for your hard work and dedication, your boundless optimism, and for many happy memories. You take with you our sincere best wishes for your continued success!
