Bloomington Campus to Offer Accelerated BSN Second Degree

Beginning this fall, students with bachelor’s degrees in other fields will be able to earn a Bachelor’s in Nursing Science through IU School of Nursing Bloomington’s new accelerated second degree track.

While the BSN accelerated second degree track mirrors the traditional Bachelor of Science in nursing track, the accelerated program allows for completion in four semesters. IU School of Nursing Bloomington received approval earlier this year to offer the BSN accelerated second degree track and will admit its first cohort for fall 2018, with additional cohorts admitted each fall.

Candidates in this accelerated program should see a broad range of career opportunities open up for them.

“We look forward to welcoming students to this new program, which offers an additional pathway to a nursing baccalaureate degree for those who have earned bachelor’s degrees in other fields of study,” said Mary Lynn Davis-Ajami, PhD, MBA, MS, FNP-C, RN, associate dean, IU School of Nursing Bloomington. “The value of an IU nursing degree is immeasurable, and combined with education and training in related fields, candidates in this program should see a broad range of career opportunities open up for them.”
