Provide comprehensive health care to acutely ill adult clients
An Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) is an advanced practice nurse who uses theory, research, and clinical expertise to improve the health of adults. Our AGACNP track is taught by experienced and dedicated faculty and prepares you to provide comprehensive health care to acutely ill adult clients in a variety of settings:
- Intensive care
- Pulmonary critical care
- Cardiology
- Hospitalist
- Trauma (Level 1)
- Surgical units
- Cardiothoracic surgery
- Neurosurgery
You will gain hands-on experience through high fidelity simulation training at the Fairbanks Simulation Center and precepted clinical hours. This track includes a combination of online, hybrid, and in-person courses and can be completed in a three-year, part-time plan of study, or—if space in the program allows—a two-year, full-time plan of study.
