Meet Dr. Janet S. Carpenter
Janet S. Carpenter, PhD, RN, FAAN, currently serves as the Interim Dean at the Indiana University School of Nursing. She is a clinical, translational scientist and one of the world’s leading experts on menopause symptoms. She has authored more than 200 publications and received research funding from the National Institutes of Health, Department of Defense, Pfizer, and others. She has done groundbreaking research in multiple areas of menopause and been involved in many of the most pivotal studies that inform clinical care of patients in the menopause transition.
Some of her notable honors and awards include USA Today Woman of the Century (Indiana), Indiana Woman of Achievement, Council for the Advancement of Nursing Science Outstanding Nurse Scientist, Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing, and Sigma International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame.
