Food, family, friends, and fun at this IU School of Nursing Bloomington signature event
Last October – for the first time in two years – we renewed two of our all-time favorite IU School of Nursing Bloomington (IUSON BL) events: our marching in the IU Homecoming parade and hosting our “IU famous” IUSON BL Tailgate party.
Major donor Dr. John Thiel graciously accepted our invitation to serve as Grand Marshall for Friday night’s Homecoming Parade. As we walked along the parade route, it was so exciting for John and our nursing students to hear the crowd, made up of IU’s students and Bloomington’s families, call out to us: “We love you, nurses!” “Thank you, nurses!”
As part of our Friday Homecoming weekend, we also offered guided tours of the new Health Sciences Building – welcoming alumni, donors, and guests to our new home on the IU campus.
The next day, Dr. Thiel joined us as the guest of honor at our Homecoming Tailgate, an event that has become an IUSON BL signature event. A breakfast brunch was on the menu that day, coordinated by Special Projects Coordinator Delanie Marks.
Saturday’s tailgate featured tons of food, family, friends, and fun. Attendees included IUSON BL faculty, staff, students, alumni, and donors. Take a few minutes now to look at the slideshow of photos from Homecoming weekend, as we look back on what it means to be part of the IUSON BL family!
