Biography
Erin Wyatt, MSN, RN has worked as an inpatient nurse in oncology, pediatrics, postpartum, and lactation. In the community setting, she has worked in school nursing and as a patient educator/navigator specializing in cancer care. When working directly with patients, Wyatt was certified as an Oncology Certified Nurse and also as a Certified Breast Care Nurse by the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation.
Most recently, Wyatt has been a full time nurse educator and has taught health assessment, fundamentals, adaptive processes, and research and evidence-based practice, with both traditional and 2nd degree BSN students. She also has experience teaching courses in medical surgical nursing, pediatrics, obstetrics, leadership, and community health nursing.
Currently, she is writing her dissertation to complete her PhD in Nursing Science at IU School of Nursing in Indianapolis under the mentorship of Claire Draucker, PhD, RN, APRN, FAAN. The focus of her dissertation is on transgender women's experiences with seeking preventive health care services.
Wyatt is also interested in health policy and has taken part in the IUSON Eagles Health Policy and Advocacy Mentorship Program and completed the IUSON Legislative Fellowship for the Spring 2021 legislative session in the Indiana Statehouse.
