Biography
Dr. Crouch is an assistant professor at the Indiana University School of Nursing on the Indianapolis campus, joining the faculty in fall of 2023. Dr. Crouch’s program of research focuses on symptom science and management in persons with cognitive impairment (such as individuals with cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, and related dementias). Her current research focuses on understanding neuropsychiatric symptoms in persons with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, including functional outcomes and genetic risk factors. Overall, Dr. Crouch’s long-term career goal for her research as a clinician-scientist is to receive external funding to develop evidence-based and tailored novel interventions to improve neuropsychiatric symptoms and their associated negative consequences among cognitively impaired persons and their caregivers.
Dr. Crouch is enthusiastic about helping others by developing new knowledge through research, which is highlighted by her numerous peer-reviewed publications and scientific presentations. Additionally, Dr. Crouch completed the Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist board certification (AGCNS-BC), a designation which complements her areas of interest.
Dr. Crouch is also dedicated to serving the research and nursing communities as an active member of the Gerontological Society of America (GSA) and of the Midwest Nursing Research Society (MNRS). She currently serves on the: 1) GSA Early Scholars and Professionals Organization Webinar Taskforce, 2) MNRS Finance Committee, and 3) MNRS Gerontology Research Interest Group as the nominations chair.
