This December, we graduated the second cohort from our Pre-licensure Second-Degree Accelerated Track of the BSN Program. Because of restrictions on gatherings due to COVID-19, we hosted our second virtual graduation ceremony for our seniors (our first virtual graduation, for our traditional BSN graduates, was held last May).

This time, however, we did something a little different. Our December 2020 Recognition Ceremony was a hybrid ceremony that featured a live component via Zoom that took place on Saturday, December 19th, and a video component – complete with graduates’ baby pictures and favorite memories from our seniors – that was more of a video yearbook than our ceremony in May.
Highlights of our live Zoom component included opening remarks by Associate Dean Mary Lynn Davis-Ajami and a keynote address by Clinical Assistant Professor Dr. Marsha Hughes-Gay, who was chosen by our seniors to give the address. Clinical Assistant Professor Erin Wyatt called the roll of names for our graduating seniors. The ceremony concluded with Dr. Davis-Ajami leading our new graduates in reciting the IU School of Nursing pledge.
