Welcome!

We’ve just completed another academic year at the IU School of Nursing Bloomington (IUSON BL). And what a year it was!

2022-23 was an incredible team effort by YOU – our students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, and friends – and filled with more forward-looking initiatives than I'd have thought possible in a single year. You can read all about them in this edition of The Nursing News.

On a more personal note, this is the last time that I will talk to you as IUSON BL’s associate dean. The IU School of Nursing has asked me to help grow our research efforts by both faculty and students as IUSON’s new executive associate dean of research.

As I stated in my last Associate Dean’s Message, research is such an essential part of today’s nursing. I am honored to have been asked to work with so many talented faculty and students in building a research portfolio with the potential to touch the lives of so many fellow nurses, their patients, and their patients’ families.

My time here as associate dean has given me many happy memories. As I leave the associate dean’s role in the very capable hands of Dr. Angela Opsahl, I am confident that you will give Angela the same level of support that you have so generously given me. And I look forward to reading about the great things you accomplish together in future editions of The Nursing News.
