The spring 2022 semester saw yet another successful celebration of all things IU!

We did so many things this year (some old, some new) to make April 20 one of the most memorable IU Days ever. 

This year’s IU Day and other events are just part of our year-round effort to increase awareness of the financial assistance we offer our students.

In the days leading up to and including IU Day, we:

• Took the lead in sponsoring and promoting a food drive that involved all the schools in the Health Sciences Building, with donations going to IU’s Crimson Cupboard and Bloomington’s Hoosier Hills Food Bank. Hoosier Hills tells us that we gathered enough food items in our 15-day drive (April 6-20) to provide 125 meals to families in need.
• Invited our parents, alumni, and donors to help our students Get Their Red On, the theme for this year’s IU Day Crowdfunding campaign for our Red Scrubs Scholarship. 
• As part of our campaign, we successfully met two of the IU Foundation’s IU Day Crowdfunding challenges, earning extra money for the Red Scrubs Scholarship. Associate Dean Wendy Trueblood Miller (who was recovering from foot surgery) and her propeller-driven IU Day scooter were winners in the Foundation’s photo competition, while our #Red Scrubs social media posts met the goals set by IUF’s social media challenge. 
• Once again hosted our world-famous IU Day pizza party and photo booth, where students mingled with faculty and staff—and a boatload of props—to have their portraits taken by IU School of Nursing Bloomington (IUSON BL) photographer, Tom Lee. You can see a selection of those portraits in the slideshow. New this year: every student who had his or her portrait taken received one of our wildly popular, retro-90s, IUSON BL-branded fanny packs!
• Took part in the IU Foundation’s IU Day Block Party near Showalter Foundation, which drew quite a crowd as IUSON BL Clinical Assistant Professor Dr. Sharon Gates showcased one of the new state-of-the-art manikins that our students use in their clinicals and answered questions about our school.
