Meet the newest members of our team

Four talented professionals join the IU School of Nursing Bloomington

We've added four talented new faculty and staff members to our IU School of Nursing Bloomington (IUSON BL) team. We'd like to introduce you to them, and welcome them to IUSON BL. We're so happy they've joined our team!

Dr. Bethany Murray

Clinical Assistant Professor

Bethany is a native of Bloomington, IN, and a ‘two time’ graduate of the IU School of Nursing (BSN and MSN). She completed her PhD (2015) in public health at IU, “where I was fortunate enough to do my dissertation study in The Kingdom of Eswatini, examining the social and cultural factors influencing rural women's health," she says.

Bethany has been a psychiatric and mental health Clinical Nurse Specialist since 1992. She currently practices part-time at Milestones Clinical Health Resources, a subsidiary of Stonebelt, ARC, with a caseload that includes both adult and pediatric patients.

Bethany’s work experience also includes four years with IU School of Nursing in Columbus, where she taught numerous traditional BSN courses—including statistics, research, and interactive processes—and in the RN to BSN Online Completion option, where she served as program coordinator. Before joining the faculty at IU School of Nursing Bloomington (IUSON BL), Bethany spent the past five years working at the IU School of Medicine in Bloomington, primarily with first-year medical students.

Bethany and her husband enjoy traveling and learning about other places and cultures. “We are very involved with our grown children and grandchildren, who live locally” she says, “and I recently discovered a passion for IU Women's Basketball!  I am very excited to return to nursing education. In many ways, the IU School of Nursing feels like coming home to me. I look forward to serving as an educator and as a mentor for our future nurses."

Lindsey Mosier

Director of Operations

Lindsey has worked in higher education since 2003 and comes to IUSON BL from within the IU system. Lindsey joins us after six years with the IU School of Medicine in Indianapolis, most recently as operations manager for Medical Student Education. She also enjoyed time as the Medical Student Education Office Manager and, prior to that, was one of the IU School of Medicine’s Statewide Course Coordinators in Curricular Development.

Lindsey spent her first 10 years at IU with the IU McKinney School of Law-Indianapolis in the Office of Admissions. She began her higher education work in various administrative capacities at Ivy Tech Community College-Bloomington.

Lindsey holds a master’s degree from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in Leadership Development, with a focus on Organizational Leadership; earned her bachelor’s degree from IUPUI, with a focus on Social and Behavioral Science; and has an associate of science degree from Ivy Tech Community College-Bloomington. She recently served as the IUPUI Staff Council President, is a 2017 Gerald L. Bepko Staff Council Spirit Award recipient and was named the 2015 and 2019 Staff Council Member of the Year.

“I am very excited to work with the talented students, faculty, and staff in Bloomington at such an important time in nursing, health care, and higher education,” she says. This past August, Lindsey celebrated her 20th wedding anniversary with her husband, Jeremy. Together, they have four beautiful children: Anna (20), James (16), Sophia (11), and Xavier (3); two German Shepherds: Chip and Lucy; and one cat: Oreo. Lindsey enjoys scrapbooking, singing, and spending time with her family.

Doug DaVee

Academic Advisor

Like Bethany Murray, Doug is a native Hoosier. He is also a first-generation college student who earned his bachelor’s degree from IUPUI, majoring in Secondary Education. Before completing his degree, Doug student taught in Scotland through the IU Global Gateways program. Although a wonderful experience, Doug says he knew that “higher education had my heart” after working in the Office of International Affairs as an undergrad.

Doug’s experience in higher education includes 13 years working in Student Affairs in both New York City and Southern California. He received his master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from the City University of New York (Baruch College).

Doug comes to IUSON BL from his alma mater where he was a Student Success Advisor in the Health and Life Sciences Advising Center, advising students who were seeking admission to a variety of health-related majors including Pre-Nursing. “When I ask students why they want to be a nurse, many will say ‘I want to help people.’ I always smile when I get that response,” he says, “because that is the same answer I have when someone asks me why I do what I do.”

When he's not helping students, Doug says he is probably going on long country drives, exploring new towns and cities, taking advantage of his Indiana State Parks pass, or researching future vacation destinations.

Roxanne Marotz

Executive Administrative Assistant

Roxanne comes to us from the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering where she was the Administrative Services Coordinator/Office Manager for the Intelligent Systems Engineering department. Roxanne has worked at Indiana University for six years, starting at the Kelley School of Business.

Prior to working at IU, Roxanne was the Human Resources Coordinator for Bloomington’s Middle Way House. Roxanne earned her associate degree from Moraine Park in Fond du Lac, WI, and is enrolled with IU Online, pursuing a degree in Business Administration and Management.

Away from work, Roxanne and her husband, Mark, have three children—Tyler (a junior at IU), Arianna (a freshman at IUPUI), and Mason (an 8th grader at Edgewood Jr. High). When Roxanne is not busy, you can usually find her watching her youngest son play baseball for the Indiana Bulls or watching some episode of Real Housewives on Bravo. Roxanne and her family moved to Indiana from Wisconsin in April 2013, so she is an avid sports fan of all things Wisconsin … and IU! The Marotz family has two dogs, Bucky and Lambeau, and a cat, Jordy. Roxanne also loves to attend concerts with her daughter, with her favorite concert performer (“so far,” she says) being Katy Perry.

Welcome to IUSON BL, Bethany, Lindsey, Doug, and Roxanne. We're so happy to have you here!
