Dr. Williamson has 18 years of experience in higher education as a faculty member, coordinator, college administrator, and chief academic/nursing officer. She has provided oversight and leadership to direct, promote, and facilitate a culture that promotes student and faculty engagement and encourages collaborations with other health professionals. Dr. Williamson has also demonstrated a commitment to ensuring financial sustainability while ensuring strategic growth in enrollment and meeting workforce demands.

Project: The goal of the Tarleton State University School of Nursing (Tarleton SON) Innovative Faculty Development through Simulation and Technology Integration Project. Funded: $391,012.
2021 & 2022 Supplemental Instruction Grant.
Project: The purpose of the SI project is to provide supplemental instruction to students who are currently enrolled in the baccalaureate Pre-licensure and Second Degree Accelerated Program (SDAP) nursing programs at MCCN. Supplemental instruction is student support services that offer students peer-guided activities to improve course learning. Funded: $20,000.
2019 HRSA-19-001 Advanced Nursing Education – Nurse Practitioner Residency Program – Mount Carmel College of Nursing Residency Program (MCCNRP). The purpose of the MCCNRP project is to increase Family Nurse Practitioner providers in community-based settings that benefit the medically underserved. Project Director Dr. Kathleen Williamson (10% effort). Funded by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HRSA) awarded $2,072,378.
