Biography
Erika Klingler started her nursing career as an LPN and went on to earn her Associate Degree in Nursing (RN). She later returned to school to complete her BSN and then a master’s degree in nursing education. She has been a nurse for 28 years and has a broad range of experience, which includes long-term care/rehab, critical care, obstetrics, pediatrics, inpatient psychiatric care. Klingler worked 14 years in the operating room/recovery room prior to transitioning to simulation education. She has taught nursing fundamentals and first semester med-surg clinical rotations and was a Magnet Champion for Parkview Regional Medical Center. She is passionate about simulation and IPE and works with faculty to incorporate cultural competence, low health literacy, and nursing care of the adult LGBTQ population into simulation and IPE.
