Meet Ambre Marr
Over the past 12 years, Ambre has served as the Legislative Director for AARP Indiana, where she has been a driving force in shaping and implementing a forward-thinking advocacy strategy. Her work focuses on elevating engagement, maximizing impact, and ensuring relevance for Indiana’s rapidly growing population of individuals 50-plus. Ambre’s leadership has fostered a dynamic partnership with volunteers, empowering them to amplify awareness of AARP’s critical issues, programs, and initiatives across the state.
She is a master relationship-builder, forging meaningful connections with community leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders at all levels. With a proven ability to create and sustain effective statewide coalitions, Ambre has positioned AARP Indiana as a pivotal voice in driving policies that benefit its members. Her unwavering commitment to fostering collaboration and innovation continues to advance AARP’s mission to improve the lives of older adults.
Prior to joining AARP Indiana, she worked in advocacy for the Indiana State Medical Association and as a legislative assistant in the Indiana General Assembly. Additionally, Ambre serves as a Commissioner on the Indiana Commission for Women (ICW), which exists to voice women's needs, concerns, and challenges, as well as celebrate their successes and contributions to Indiana. Ambre graduated from Saint Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana, with a degree in Social Work. She calls Indianapolis home alongside her significant other, Ryan, and when she isn’t at the Statehouse, you can either find her running, cycling, or camping.
