Dr. Rosalind Scott Jessie
Rosalind Scott Jessie, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC is an assistant professor at Indiana University Southeast (IUS) School of Nursing. She is a Doctor of Nursing Practice Executive Leadership graduate from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). Her Doctor of Nursing Project focused on: Decreasing No-Show Appointments at a Regional Mental Health Organization.
Her expertise is developing an experiential learning curriculum to engage undergraduate nursing students in clinical mental health activities for diverse populations with psychological conditions. In 2018, Rosalind became a Legislative Nurse Fellow at the Indiana General Assembly, with Representative Ed Clere. She is committed to using her IUSON Eagles Mentorship and Legislative Nurse Fellowship experience to foster leadership and engage undergraduate and graduate nursing students in health policy and advocacy.
Rosalind is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. In her clinical role, she treats individuals with mental health, substance use disorders, and mothers with perinatal and postpartum mood disorders at an outpatient community mental health organization.
Rosalind serves as a mental health consultant and community advisory board member for Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) Goodwill of Central and Southern Indiana. She is also a member of the Indiana University Southeast Coordinated Community Response Team. She serves as a healthcare advisory board member, and counselor to parishioners at Christ Churches International, Jeffersonville, Indiana.
She is a member of several professional organizations: Sigma Theta Tau International, Coalition of Advanced Practice Nurses of Indiana, American Nurses Association, American Psychiatric Nurses Association, Indiana Student Nurses Association, and Association of Community Health Nursing Educators.
She is a recipient of the Floyd Memorial Foundation and Women’ Leadership Philanthropy Grants totally 10,000. The grants will train and allow undergraduate nursing students, and community members to become certified in mental health first aid.

In 2021, Rosalind was awarded the Indiana University Purdue Indianapolis (IUPUI) Elite 50 Award, which awards 50 graduate or professional students who demonstrate excellence beyond the classroom. Criteria for this award was students had to meet the areas of IUPUI campus engagement & activities, leadership, scholarly work, and community engagement.
