Find scholarships and fellowships to fund your education

If you are an incoming or current, undergraduate or graduate IU School of Nursing student, you may apply for one of our scholarships by submitting an application and required essay.

For financial need scholarships we request a completed FAFSA. Award amounts range from $500 to $10,000 per year, per scholarship. Applications for nursing specific scholarships are open from December 1 to March 31, unless otherwise noted in the scholarship portal.

How to apply for scholarships

  1. Sign in to the scholarship portal using your IU username and passphrase.
  2. Complete the general scholarship application to be automatically considered for all the scholarship opportunities you’re eligible for.
  3. Find the opportunities you’re looking for by performing a search with keyword nursing or the specific name of the scholarship.
  4. Complete any additional application materials that may be necessary.

The Bob and Annette Konupek Nursing Scholarship was established by Bob and Annette Konupek. Annette Konupek is a proud alumna of the school having graduated with a BSN in 1967 and was a recipient of a scholarship while a student at the school.

The Carl Malcom Sr Memorial Scholarship was established in 2012 by an estate gift from Michael Malcolm Hoback.

  • Be a student from Lawrence Central High School
  • GPA of 3.0 or greater while in nursing school

Carole I. Ritchie Endowed Graduate Nursing Scholarship

The Carole I. Ritchie Endowed Graduate Nursing Scholarship was created by Carole I. Ritchie to honor her life's work as a pediatric nurse in Lebanon, Indiana, and to assist other nurses who wish to improve the health and welfare of children. Carole obtained her BSN in 1973 and her MSN (Nursing of Children) in 1975 from IU School of Nursing.

The Charles E. Walters, MD, and Thelma Walters Scholarship in Nursing was established by an estate gift from Thelma Walters. Thelma is a graduate of the School of Nursing Class of 1938 and wishes to honor her husband Charles E. Walters, MD, a graduate of the School of Medicine, Class of 1937.

Chi Eta Phi Sorority Scholarship Fund

The Chi Eta Phi Sorority Scholarship Fund was established by the Eta Chi Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority. Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc., is a professional organization for registered professional nurses and student nurses (male and female) representing many cultures and diverse ethnic backgrounds. More than 8,000 registered nurses and student nurses hold membership in Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc.

CIOCNS Dayhoff Clinical Nurse Specialist Fellowship

The CIOCNS Dayhoff Clinical Nurse Specialist Fellowship was established to commemorate the impact of Clinical Nurse Specialist ("CNS") on the nursing profession and to encourage future CNS students. CIOCNS is the Central Indiana Organization of Clinical Nurse Specialists.

  • Students pursuing Clinical Nurse Specialist degrees or students who are currently CNS's enrolled in a doctoral program
  • IUPUI campus only
  • Preference will be given to students who have completed at least one semester in the program
  • Enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours per semester
  • GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Applicants must include an essay describing how they demonstrate clinical leadership in advancing the practice of nursing

Clara Harman Pugsley - Florence Nightingale Scholarship Fund

The Clara Harman Pugsley - Florence Nightingale Scholarship Fund was established in 1978 by Harman Pugsley, who attended Indiana University in 1942.
