Nursing education starts in the classroom, but working in clinical settings is where you will learn the most and exercise the powers of your mind and heart—and it starts in your first semester of the nursing program.

IUPUI is home to five clinical partners, all within steps of each other, and a sixth is just a few shuttle stops away. Two hundred other healthcare providers throughout central Indiana are also available and offer vast opportunities to discover, treat, heal, and learn.

Capstone

One of the final courses you will take prior to graduation is Capstone, which is a concentrated clinical experience under the guidance of a trained preceptor with faculty oversight. Your capstone will help you become more independent, refine your nursing care practice skills, and prepare you for practice as a licensed, professional nurse.
