At the Center for Research and Scholarship, our mission is to support you in the development and conduct of research and other scholarly activities that advance nursing science. The center is dedicated to the delivery of services to facilitate your scholarship, funding, and knowledge dissemination.
Scholarship support services include educational opportunities on various topics throughout the year, dissemination of funding announcements, and expert consultation. You can meet with faculty leaders to discuss the development of your scholarly ideas, consult with experts on research design, work with statisticians, consult with skilled editors, and obtain peer review of your grants and manuscripts prior to and following submission.
Our pre-award services include grant planning and development, budget preparation, statistical consultation, and comprehensive grant submission guidance including application formatting, review of agency guidelines, and preparation of biosketches.
Post-award services guide you from project start-up through budget management and project management. We will work side-by-side with you to interpret funding agency and university policies.
Within the Center for Research and Scholarship, four centers focus on research to improve the health and well being of specific populations.
In the 2013 fiscal year, the Center for Research and Scholarship received a total of $4,472,138 in external funding. This funding allows faculty researchers to improve lives through nursing research. The IU School of Nursing is ranked 12th in National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding among 80 schools of nursing.
Several training opportunities exist to provide you a continuum of education preparation. Our goal is to help you reach your career goals in the healthcare profession and prepare you to meet the lifelong challenges and possibilities you'll face as a nurse researcher.
In-house resources are available to support researchers from study conception through application and funding to implementation.
